The rooms

Bruni

The big one.

The big one. A king bed that splits into twins if you'd rather (please let us know when booking), a sitting area with a sofa, and a corner of windows that puts the water in front of you from most of the room. If you're staying more than a night or two, this is the one with room to spread out.

The name

Who was Bruni?

Bruni d'Entrecasteaux was sent from France in 1791 to find La Pérouse, who had sailed from Botany Bay three years earlier and never been seen again. He never found him. What he did find, in 1792, was the channel between the island and the mainland — both of which now carry his name. He died at sea the following year and never made it home.

What's in every room

French flax linen and electric blankets. A reverse cycle aircon of its own. Fridge, microwave, kettle, spare cutlery, and a box of tea to get through. Dressing gowns and slippers. Television, wi-fi, hair dryer, iron. Parking a few steps from the door. Nothing on that list costs extra.
