The smallest of the three, with a queen bed rather than a king, and priced accordingly. Same view, same ensuite, same everything else — it's simply a smaller room. Guests who've had it tend to say so, and then book it again.

The name
Who was Hayes?
John Hayes was a Bombay Marine officer on a private trading run out of Calcutta when contrary winds pushed him down here in 1793. He spent three months exploring, and named the river the Derwent after the one he'd grown up beside in Cumberland. He found out afterwards that d'Entrecasteaux had got there two months ahead of him and already named it the Rivière du Nord. Hayes's name is the one that stuck.
What's in every room
French flax linen and electric blankets. A reverse cycle aircon of its own. Fridge, microwave, kettle, spare cutlery, and a box of tea to get through. Dressing gowns and slippers. Television, wi-fi, hair dryer, iron. Parking a few steps from the door. Nothing on that list costs extra.
The other two

Baudin
Our largest bathroom, and the only room with a balcony.

Bruni
The big one. A king bed that splits into twins if you'd rather (please let us know when booking), a sitting area with a sofa, and a corner of windows that puts the water in front of you from most of the room.
